Flow structure and loads over inclined cylindrical rodlike particles and fibers

چکیده

We use fully-resolved simulations to predict the force and torque acting on a long cylinder or fiber inclined with respect incoming flow. Results obtained in viscous regime are compared predictions of slender-body theory, possibly incorporating finite-inertia corrections. Numerical results used build approximate models for valid from creeping-flow conditions up upper limit stationary inertial regime.
